  • Examination of Conscience

A step-by-step guide and an examination of conscience may help you prepare for confession, such as this one.

An examination of conscience helps to evaluate our relationship with God in a more objective manner to see where we have failed and sinned. An examination prepares us to make a confession and reduces anxiety.

  • Confessions at St. Vincent de Paul

    Confessions are available on:

    • During Thursday Adoration 6 pm to 7 pm, and longer if needed
    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 11:30-Noon
    • Sunday 30-minutes prior to each Mass
    • By request (seriously, just ask or call (202)488-1354 #1

I encourage you to make a good confession during Lent; the Lord is waiting for you to extend to you the gift of His infitinte love and mercy.

    Fr. Michal

    Where's the confessional?
Upon entering St. Vincent de Paul from the main entrance (South Capitol Street, SE), walk through the vestibule and enter the church. The confessional is located to the right, in the corner/along the wall in the back of the church.

There are step-by-step Confession guides located in the back of the church that can help and assist with your Confession. If you are unsure how to make a Confession, speak with Father and he will guide you through the process.

  • Reconciliation App

Check your smartphone's app store, there are a variety of Confession Apps to guide you.
